The inner east’s favourite sushi spot is now here on The Streets.

“Our food philosophy centres around a modern twist on traditional Japanese, and all our dishes are designed to share, in the Izakaya style,” says Serena Ang, General Manager of Zushi. “The menu is driven by seasonal produce and we try to celebrate what food means to people.”

For the past decade, foodies in the inner east have made Zushi the default destination for sushi and all manner of Japanese classics, embracing the Zushi philosophy of fun, fresh, modern and delicious.

The philosophy also extends to sustainability, with organic or biodynamic wines, the freshest veg available, free range chicken and sustainable seafood where possible. And if you’re not on speaking terms with gluten, almost 90% of the menu is now gluten-free.

Zushi Barangaroo is beautifully stylish and comfortable, modelled on a very casual style of Japanese bistro or pub known as Izakaya.  The bar menu is just as fun and authentic, with a select range of Japanese inspired cocktails, Japanese beers and a strong focus on Japanese sake and whisky.

“This is one of the last waterfront restaurant spaces in Sydney with a view of the sunset,” says Serena, “so the opportunity to serve our food and bar menu alfresco with the magic of the sun setting on the harbour as our backdrop was irresistible.”
